Hi, I’m Tonya. I love yoga. Yoga has benefited me greatly throughout my life. When I’m practicing regularly I feel better, it’s as simple as that. Gentle, physical, accessible movements combined with breath, mindfulness and meditation practices has enhanced my ability to access a greater well-being. My goal is to share the benefits of yoga with you in a way that is accessible, and body positive in order to encourage and inspire you towards peace and well-being. If you thought yoga wasn’t for you for whatever reason in the past, I offer you a way to access the benefits of yoga, mindfulness and meditation by providing you with ways to practice yoga that work for you in the present moment.
Dana first found her love of mindfulness practices in 2008, when she was given the book Radical Acceptance by Tara Brach. Serendipitously, Tara taught group meditation classes right up the street from where Dana was living in Rockville, Maryland. Soon after, she found herself stepping into her first yoga studio. Dana, was intrigued that the yoga instructors were prompting their students to notice and become more aware of their experience of movement and how they felt in their body. She also appreciated how they supported their students and encouraged self care. Dana’s personal yoga practice was transformational for her and she received her RYT 200 certification from Sol Yoga in 2016 in Frederick Maryland. She has a soft, easy, reflective style of teaching and instructs her students to see yoga as a moving meditation. Dana has experience teaching all ages from children to seniors and supports the personal agency of all her students. She encourages them to listen to their own bodies and to do what feels best for them, at that moment, no matter what the rest of the class is doing. Dana has been trained in Accessible Yoga and truly believes that anyBODY can do yoga. She is looking forward to meeting you, where you are and to be your gentle guide on your own mindfulness journey.
Lindsey’s path to yoga began in 2006 when she stepped into her first class in Minneapolis. Although she was called to yoga for the physical aspects, yoga sparked a profound shift in her mind, body and spirit. After decades of practice and completing a 200 Hour RYT program at Denver Yoga Underground with Derik Eselius, she believes that yoga is a path to a more connected, rich life with our self and the community around us.
It is Lindsey’s intention to meet you where you are on your Yoga journey. Her classes are rooted in Hatha Yoga techniques and infused with meditation, props to support practice, simple, accessible postures and self paced movement to allow you space to connect with your breath. Her gentle, steady teaching style allows for stilling of the mind, relaxation and contemplation. Her purpose is to offer a reflective space where students can build greater self awareness and find more peace within themselves.
